Cheryl Cole
Everybody loves Cheryl Cole. Fact. And if you don't, you have no heart. Fact. Our Cheryl has the world heavyweight title
at the moment in the fashion world , being named as this years best dressed by about a kajillion different magazines. I am, to be honest, more of a fan of her day-to-day attire than her big event outfits. She, rather enviously, seems to effortlessly throw (sometimes quite simple) things together and always look immaculate.

I think I shall give this little section a little rest now and continue it another time, so as not to bombard with my blithering writing skills and to maybe put a few of my own pictures up. I am expecting a digital SLR camera to turn up on my doorstep either tomorrow or the day after, so I shall get snap happy and get some photos on here. That's if I manage to get it working...

Au Revoir Simone
Another New York Band, but maybe not so well known, is Au Revoir Simone. Haha I just realised that rhymed :|. I discovered them about a year ago now when they were being played over and over in Topshop, which just shows how often I go in there. Their look always reminds me of Urban Outfitters - probably my favourite shop - resulting in me giving them the thumbs up. Their image reflects the current lacy, floral, cropped, 1950's length skirts trend that is so prominent today. They've been described as (thank you wiki)
'lush electronic hypno-folk'. I think they're worth checking out, although I've had mixed reviews off friends when I've played it to them. Look up 'Sad Song' or my favourite 'Shadows'.

MGMT
Soooo I know I said Alexa Chung was coolness herself... but these guys are the epitome of cool, I'd say. Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden make up this New York based psychedelic indie band. Kinda hippieish-pagan is their look and I liiike it. If you've seen the videos for Time to Pretend and Electric Feel then you'll know what I'm on about. I'd love to go about face painted, with bed hair and adorned in feathers, but I don't think I'd be able to pull it off quite like them. Haven't bought their new album yet but it's definitely on my to-do list.

Alexa Chung

So let's start off with coolness herself, Miss Alexa Chung. She's like one of the popular girls at school who's beautiful (look at her), good at everything (she got all A's at ALevel) and the worst thing is is that she's nice too, so you can't hate her for being so perfect dammit. She's actually one of the few women on TV that I find funny as well - anybody remember her days presenting the supercool Popworld? Being a former model, fashion plays a pretty big part in her life and she always gets it right, usually with a harmonized mixture of high street and designer labels.
I also like her because she has the same Topshop jumper as I do, which is odd as I hate it when I see other people with the same clothes as me!
...A bit of an aspirational girl crush for me methinks.

I Like Your Swagger

Ok, so if this aint nothin but a clothes thang, I best show you some of the people whose style I admire. There's quite a lot...but I'll try to narrow them down. There'll be the usual suspects of course - but some of them might come as a bit of a surprise...

Hola

Hola...:)

My name is Saira and I've decided to follow the crowd and make a blog. I've always been a bit dubious about these blog things, firstly, because I'm a bit of a technological retard and secondly I've always thought them a bit emo - but over the past couple of days the idea of it seems to have become more and more enticing... so I've let go of the horns and let it lure me in. It was gonna happen eventually, I guess. It's like this whole new trend of JEGGINGS. I was so anti the strange but beautiful legging/jean hybrid, half thinking the word sounded like some tactless insult...but look who's gone and got a few pairs and now wears them week in week out. Yup, that's me.

Talking about the fascinating wonder that is jeggings, I intend this blog to be not so much about my amazing, exciting superlife, but to be more about garments, clothes, the World of Fashion. My original plan for when I grew up was to get into some sort of sector of the fashion industry, but due to laziness on my part I kinda messed up my Art GCSE and AS Level and in turn it made me sort of resent the whole thing. So now, four years later, I'm in my third (but not final) year of studying Arabic&English at Leeds University. Don't get me wrong, English is pretty cool - and Arabic is even cooler, but I just don't have any real overwhelming passion for them. Unlike fashion, which takes up a lot of my thinking time. So, all in all, this blog will (hopefully) be a little shiny red vehicle for me to express my love for clothes.

As I am certain blogs make you more in touch with your emo side, I'm running the risk of slowly developing a strong desire for a side fringe, masses of eyeliner and star tattoos - but this is a risk I'm willing to take. I'm not sure how popular this blog will get and I'm not too bothered if it ends up being only me (although it's always nice to look popular ;) ) tracking myself, but hey, let's wait and see...

Wish me luck trying to figure this thing out!

... now where did I put that Panic! At The Disco CD...
